About the NorthBay Restoration Association
Our Mission
The NorthBay Restoration Association (NBRA) was founded to unite and elevate certified restoration professionals serving Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, and the greater North Bay area. We promote best practices, ongoing education, and ethical standards in mold remediation, water damage restoration, fire and smoke cleanup, and related services.
Born from the need for trusted local experts—especially after regional wildfires and floods—NBRA connects homeowners and businesses with IICRC-certified contractors who deliver reliable, compassionate results. Our members adhere to rigorous industry guidelines, ensuring peace of mind during challenging times.

Certified Excellence
NBRA MemberOur Commitment to Community Assistance
At NBRA, we believe everyone deserves a safe, healthy home—regardless of income. That's why we're committed to helping disadvantaged and low-income households access essential services like indoor air quality testing, mold assessments, remediation, and water damage cleanup.
We facilitate connections to affordable or no-cost resources, partnering with local experts and applying for grants to fund these efforts. This initiative addresses a critical need in the greater North Bay Area, where toxic environments from mold and poor indoor air quality disproportionately harm vulnerable populations, including children and the elderly.
A Nonprofit Serving the North Bay
The NorthBay Restoration Association (NBRAUSA) is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity (EIN 41-3335555) headquartered in Santa Rosa, California. Our mission is twofold: to raise the standard of professional restoration work in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa counties, and to make certified restoration services accessible to households that could not otherwise afford them.
Membership in NBRA is not automatic. Premium Restoration members must hold active IICRC firm certification, employ certified technicians in disciplines such as Water Damage Restoration (WRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), and Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT), maintain a valid California CSLB contractor license, and carry general liability insurance. This vetting is what makes our member directory a trustworthy starting point for homeowners facing water damage, mold, fire, or storm losses.
Beyond the directory, NBRA operates a Community Assistance Program that connects low-income families, seniors, and renters with free or reduced-cost indoor air quality testing, mold remediation, and water damage cleanup. The program is funded through tax-deductible donations and public grants, and delivered by member companies who volunteer discounted or pro-bono services.
Whether you are a homeowner searching for qualified help, a restoration professional who wants to demonstrate a commitment to standards, or a neighbor who wants to support safe housing in the North Bay, NBRA is built for you.
